A glimpse into Lydia & George’s beautiful summer marquee at home wedding. After a flower-filled church ceremony, they returned to Lydia’s family home for a stunning marquee reception, perfectly timed with golden hour and plenty of dancing 🤍
The morning began at Lydia’s family home, with a calm but excited energy in the air. From the windows of bridal prep, you could see the beautiful marquee set on the lawn while last-minute suppliers added the final touches.
Lydia wore a timeless and elegant gown by British designer Suzanne Neville. The beautiful ‘Bussotti’ dress featured a classic cut with a square scoop neckline, delicate bodice seaming, thin belt and pleated A-line skirt. Her bridesmaids wore blue floral ‘Hydrangea’ Reformation maxi dresses, which I have to say are some of my favourite bridesmaids dresses I’ve seen.
One of the most emotional moments of the morning was Lydia’s reveal with her dad. She walked down the stairs and his reaction was instant – moments like this are always so special to witness and photograph. Running a little late, we then bundled into the cars and raced off to the church!
Lydia & George were married at All Saints Church on Preston Fields Lane in Henley-in-Arden. The beautiful little village church had been completely transformed with flowers by the very talented Tanya Lee Sutton and team.
The porch alone was filled to the brim with garden blooms – overflowing arrangements that felt as though they’d grown there naturally. As guests arrived and walked through, the scent of fresh flowers was incredible.
The ceremony itself was heartfelt and traditional, surrounded by more beautiful florals at the top of the church, perfectly framing Lydia & George.
After the ceremony and confetti, Lydia & George made their exit in a timeless Bentley Convertible. As they arrived back at Lydia’s parents’ home, guests gathered on the lawn to welcome them in cheering and waving as the car came down their long driveway.
They were greeted by a gorgeous marquee set-up and a drinks wagon ready and waiting. The atmosphere was relaxed straight away – guests mingling on the lawn, drinks in hand, enjoying the late August sunshine.
Inside the marquee, the styling was soft and romantic with pastel florals and candles. Pretty tones of white, blush pink and subtle hints of blue woven throughout the space.
Following some beautiful speeches, food was served as sharing boards, which always creates such a warm, communal feel at the tables.
Music came courtesy of vinyl DJ Select & Spin, which added such a fun and personal touch to the day.
As the evening rolled in, the sun began to set across the lawn and down the driveway. We kept a close eye on it as it dropped and, when it felt just right, we quickly snuck out for a few extra portraits to make the most of it. I absolutely love a little golden hour, and the soft late summer glow was definitely worth stealing an extra five minutes for.
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Lydia & George opted for a meringue station – which was such a unique and fun alternative.
The evening celebrations then kicked off with a quick first dance, before all their guests flooded the dancefloor. There’s something about a marquee party – the dancefloor is always amazing. Full of energy, joy, and the best kind of chaos to end the night.
