Dewsall Court Wedding Photographer - Ellie & Seb's october wedding day

Dewsall Court is a stunning wedding venue set in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. With its historic buildings, gardens and barn spaces all close by, it’s a venue that works brilliantly for relaxed weddings, offering something new for guests as the day unfolds.

Ellie and Seb planned a relaxed October wedding with an onsite church ceremony, followed by a laid-back reception and incredible party. Their day featured beautiful styling including stunning florals and hot pink bridesmaid dresses, set against the autumnal tones and character of Dewsall Court.

WEDDING preparations AT dewsall court

Preparations took place at Dewsall Court, with Ellie getting ready in the bridal suite and Seb downstairs with the boys. The morning was calm, relaxed and full of excitement for the day ahead, with plenty of laughter and anticipation. Ellie wore a beautifully structured, classic gown by Suzanne Neville, styled with a long-sleeved lace top which worked perfectly for a church setting. The bridesmaids wore the most striking hot pink dresses by maids to measure, which added a real pop of colour to the photos throughout the day and worked brilliantly against the soft autumnal tones.

Ceremony at St Michael and All Angels Church

The ceremony took place at St Michael and All Angels Church, just a quick walk from Dewsall Court. The entrance was framed by an incredible floral arch by florist Snowdrops Studio. It was filled with seasonal blooms, autumn colours and lots of natural greenery. It worked beautifully with the character of the church and added so much colour!

Ellie and Seb had the church at absolute maximum capacity – more guests than they’d ever hosted before. Although it was very full, it worked incredibly well. The atmosphere inside was amazing and the hymns in particular sounded incredible.

Drinks Reception at Dewsall Court

After the ceremony, guests walked back up to Dewsall Court for drinks and canapes. Although the original plan had been to stay indoors, the unexpected good weather meant the drinks reception was moved outside into the gardens. This was a lovely surprise for Ellie and Seb and all thanks to their brilliant venue coordinator, Sophie. There was live music, plenty of space for guests to spread out and a really relaxed feel as everyone enjoyed drinks, chatted and soaked up the afternoon.

Towards the end of the drinks reception, while guests made their way into the Wainhouse Barn, we took a few minutes for some couple portraits.. Keeping this part of the day short and relaxed meant they didn’t miss out on time with their guests, while still making the most of the beautiful surroundings. One of the benefits of Dewsall Court is that everything is close by, so there’s no need to go far to get a beautiful variety of photographs.

Wedding Breakfast in the Wainhouse Barn

The wedding breakfast took place in the Wainhouse Barn. It was styled with autumnal flowers, seasonal foliage wrapped around the beams and lots of soft, warm lighting. The floral details tied everything together beautifully and carried the colours from the ceremony through into the reception space. It’s a great room for this time of year – rustic and cosy, with natural light at the start of dinner before it drops away and the room takes on a more evening feel.

After dinner, guests headed outside again for a cocktail hour in the treehouse, complete with an espresso martini tower. It was a great way to break up the day and gave everyone time to chat, catch up and reset before the evening celebrations began.

The first dance quickly turned into an absolutely packed dance floor, with everyone getting involved. Later in the evening, Ellie changed into a showstopping gold Nortier dress that was perfect for the party and plenty of dancing. The dance floor was absolutely packed for the entire night.
