London Engagement Photography & Pre Wedding Shoot

London engagement photography in the heart of the city, featuring a relaxed pre-wedding shoot around Bank, St Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster.

Pre-wedding shoots are such a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera ahead of the wedding day. With no tight timings or pressure, there’s space to relax, chat and ease into being photographed  and I’ll use the same gentle prompts I would on a wedding day, so everything feels familiar when the big day arrives.

Penny and Aman chose to have their session in a part of London that’s genuinely meaningful to them – along their daily commute to work together in Bank. Starting somewhere personal always makes the session feel more natural, and it was lovely to photograph them in a setting that’s part of their everyday life.

Penny wore a gorgeous bridal-white pearl-trim dress by Odd Muse London, styled with an optional fun veil and sunglasses, which gave the whole shoot a modern, fashion-forward feel while still keeping it relaxed and playful.

Iconic backdrop of st paul's cathedral, bank and westinster

First, we wandered around St Paul’s Cathedral, making the most of the architecture (and very briefly being chased off the steps by security as they prepared for a private event!). From there, we explored the surrounding streets, with views of St Paul’s appearing between buildings and plenty of beautiful London backdrops along the way.

We also stopped at their favourite café, Rosslyn Coffee – a regular spot for them – which added a really relaxed, personal element to the shoot. Including places like this is such a simple way to make a pre-wedding session feel more reflective of who you are as a couple. Following our coffee stop, we wandered around the Royal Exchange and surrounding streets in Bank, using the mix of historic architecture and city backdrop.

To end the session, we jumped in a taxi over to Westminster for some classic London photographs by the Houses of Parliament, including one of the iconic spots where Big Ben is framed perfectly in beautiful classic arch.

WHAT CAME NEXT?

It was wonderful getting to know Penny and Aman ahead of their wedding celebrations. I later had the pleasure of photographing their Chinese tea ceremony at Aynhoe Park, followed by their full wedding celebrations at Primrose Hill Farm, which beautifully combined Indian traditions with a Western civil ceremony. Across all occasions, Penny wore five incredible dresses in total – each one completely different and so thoughtfully chosen.

Below is a little sneak peek of it all, with much more to share soon…
