Indian Fusion Wedding at Rushton Hall

A beautiful Indian fusion wedding at Rushton Hall Hotel and Spa. India & Owen combined traditional dress and a beautiful Hindu ceremony, with an evening black tie party. their day was beautiful from start to finish and such a joy to photograph.

This was the first Indian fusion wedding I have photographed and I was so excited to capture it.  I took the time ahead of the wedding to understand the traditions and flow of the day, ensuring I was prepared for every important moment. India & Owen’s schedule was jam-packed. I absolutely loved the thrill of chasing all the exciting moments as they happened, but also all of the gorgeous details, beautiful traditions, joy and emotion displayed throughout the day.

RUSHTON HALL

Rushton Hall Hotel and Spa is a stunning Grade 1 listed country house in Kettering, Northamptonshire. Originally built in the 15th century and nestled in 25 acres of immaculate grounds, both the interior and exterior of the building provide the most incredible backdrop to wedding photography.

PREPARATIONS

The morning began with bridal and groom preparations, ahead of a traditional Baraat procession and Hindu Ceremony. Owen’s Baraat was quite spectacular with drummers, smoke bombs and lots of dancing. The energy was electric, with the full wedding party joining the procession around the venue, cheering and dancing along.

THE CEREMONY

Their traditional Hindu ceremony was officiated by Chanda Vyas, the UK’s first female Hindu Preist. India made her entrance with her father, to the sound of a beautiful live gospel choir on the balcony. She wore a stunning traditional red lehenga, with beautiful gold embroidery and a matching veil.

GROUP PHOTOS & COUPLES PORTRAITS

After the ceremony, there were drinks in the garden, group photos and couples portraits. It was wonderful to work alongside the videographer ‘Jake Burgess Films’ for the day and bounce creative ideas off each other. For couples portraits, we went for a relaxed walk around the venue and made the most of Rushton Hall’s beautiful architecture.

THE WEDDING BREAKFAST

Their wedding breakfast was held in the Orangery. The Orangery is beautifully bright, flooded with natural light from the large windows – a wonderful contrast to some of the older, more ornate parts of Rushton Hall. After some beautifully sentimental speeches, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

BLACK TIE EVENING RECEPTION

For their evening reception, the bridal party, groom’s party and parents all changed into black tie. India wore a beautiful white Enzoani wedding dress accessorised with a long veil, with floral applique around the edge. After some quick photos before the sun went down, the guests cheered as they made their entrance for the first dance!

THE PARTY

For the rest of the night they had quite the party. The incredible ‘Otis Sax’ took to the dance floor, there was crowd surfing from both Owen and the father of the bride, plus incredible dance moves from every generation. I love a busy dancefloor and it certainly didn’t disappoint!
